The Bushies and the Republican party in general have touched the so-called "third rail" of politics. They have messed with Medicare. Let's try to supply enough "juice" to the rail to eletrocute the bastids. "Juice" will be generated by members of Medicare who have contributed their money all their lives. They will generate a lethal load with their vote.

If you are old and paid all your life into Medicare so you would have health benefits in your infirmity, you just got screwed. The President and his partners in the Senate and House passed what they will tell you is a great improvement in Medicare. Believe me when I tell you that it is the death knell for your invested Medicare funds. They are taking it so the rich 1% can have their precious tax refunds. This from the NYT today: "Representative Jim McGovern, Democrat of Massachusetts, countered, "This bill ends Medicare as we know it and turns it into a convoluted, complicated voucher program." And Representative Sander M. Levin, Democrat of Michigan, denounced the bill as "a radical effort to dismantle Medicare."

Sorry for all you old foks that spent your money on a plan that was working fine and had funding for another forty years. I hope all us old folks remember this at election time.

This was contributed by a very good friend of mine. It was written by Walt Whitman in his Leaves of Grass.

TO THE STATES
To the States or any one of them, or any city of the States,
Resist much, obey little,
Once unquestioning obedience, once fully enslaved,
Once fully enslaved, no nation, state, city of this earth, ever
afterward resumes its liberty.

- Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass

FINALLY!

The folks in control of our political system are finally getting some negative press. I haven't checked out the Fox (fair and balanced) crowd because they are such sniveling creeps on the air, but it seems that most of the real media is reflecting the concern of most middle class Americans, at last. Seeing the beginning of the cracks in the foundation Mr. Rove, Perle, Wolfowitz and Chaney constructed is a real pleasure for all freedom loving Americans. We can only hope that the masses who don't vote will decide it is in their best interests to get off their duff and defeat the Bushie's in the next election. Have you ever seen such arrogance as is now demonstrated daily by our elected (and, in the case of the President, court appointed) officials? Let's be sure to remind our friends to vote against this crowd.

LET ME BE ONE OF THE FIRST to shake my finger in the face of George Bush's Imperialist leadership and say, "I told you so!". It appears that the Bushie's are about to be inundated with Americans who have found their voice and are asking questions that should have been answered before going into Iraq. I see more and more noise coming from the media, except for those who will claim they knew it all along and didn't agree, they just reported the news... you know, fair and balanced. I can only hope that John Dean knows whereof he speaks when he says that if Bush has misled the people in order to have his nasty little imperialist way, he is finished. If the anti-American Senate of Bush kissers and wimps will now stand on their feet and investigate in public, by appointing a Special Prosecutor, we may find justice for our battered and bleeding Constitution. Where is Ken Starr when you need him?

More good news for Alabamians, The NYT is noticing what a red-necked, right-wing axxhole we have as Attorney General. This from today's New York Times.

Beyond the Pale
Many of the Bush administration's judicial nominees have been evasive about their positions on abortion, but not William Pryor. Mr. Pryor, Alabama's attorney general, has declared that Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling upholding abortion rights, "ripped the Constitution and ripped out the life of millions of unborn children." He has shown the same lack of subtlety 'and fierce ideological agenda' on issues ranging from civil rights to states' rights and gay rights. His extremism and disdain for the legal rights of many Americans make him unsuited to be a federal judge.

Bob Herbert, writing in today's New York Times, "Government services? Prepare to wave goodbye to Medicare and Social Security as you've known them. Right wingers have always wanted to cripple the government's social service programs and now they are racing toward achievement of that poisonous goal. With the president's tax cuts bankrupting the government, there will be no money left for meaningful support of even the most popular social programs.

The environment? Among other things, the Bush White House does not like global warming. So it just edits out, eliminates, erases important references to it in official government documents. Gas-guzzling S.U.V.'s are good. But in the Bush II White House, global warming as most scientists know it doesn't even exist.

We've got some waking up to do." Ahh, Bob, you are so right!

"It is up to the president and his administration--with a deep interest in a given policy outcome--nonetheless to portray the intelligence community's findings honestly. If an administration represents the intelligence unfairly, it effectively forecloses an informed choice about the most important question a nation faces: whether or not to go to war. That is exactly what the Bush administration did when it sought to convince the public and Congress that the United States should go to war with Iraq." With that statement in it's 6/19/03 post to the New Rebublic Online, the house of cards built by the Bush regime is indicted. The crimes this administration has committed run much deeper and wider than just an illegal war, they stretch from the manipulation of the Supreme Court in the 2000 election to the latest lie they tell tomorrow. We as a nation must do all that is legal to expose and evict this rump and illegal government before we lose our country forever. Write you Senator's and Congressmen, tell them you are tired of the lying and illegal acts that the Bush regime continue to do, ask them to impeach this dangerous man. Go to tnr.com and look for "The Selling of the Iraq War, The First Casualty" by John B. Judis and Spencer Ackerman. Learn the truth.
